The Central Plains Capitals are on the ice for Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League action in Portage la Prairie today. They host Eastman at the BDO Centre, in their first of two this weekend.

The Caps are 3-3 in their last six, and their last connected wins came back in early December. "Eastman and Kenora are a couple of teams that we can for sure beat," says Caps' leading scorer Joey Moffat. "We've had some trouble putting a couple wins together, but the losses we've had have been close games. Hopefully, we can get four points this weekend."

Eastman's won three of their last four, with the latest coming over the Thrashers in Winnipeg. A win would give the Caps a little breathing room in the standings as they're tied with Brandon in third with 44 points, and only one point ahead of the Hawks and the Thrashers who sit at 43.

Today's game goes at 4 p.m.
