Getting close to the Prairie Players kicking off another season. Learn about their meeting and other things that are the happ this week below

What is the happ? The age old question I've been asking for like a month now but we always seem to find some awesome events that are worth checking out.

- This week sees the return of Pals on the Playground. What is that? It's a chance for kids (and their family) to get together with other kids to have fun and play some games. Starting Monday (Sept 12) it'll take place at Fort la Reine School, Tuesday at Laverendrye School and Wednesday at North Memorial. That'll continue until the end of the month. Check it out between 6 and 7:30pm.

- The Prairie Players are hosting a meeting Tuesday night (beginning at 7pm) to go over their upcoming season. Being held in the green room at the Glesby Centre, $5 fee will need to be paid that night to become a member.

- At their campaign kick-off last week the United Way set their goal for the year. $247,500 is what they hope to fundraise for their member agencies. In order to do that they need YOUR help. Yes you, as in the person reading this right now. They'll be selling chips until October 31, perfect for lunches or dare I even mention Halloween yet, but to order, give them a shout at 857-4440. The PCI Trojans will be hosting a BBQ at the Co-op food store on Friday from 11-2, with proceeds going to the UW. Hamburger or smokie, chips and a drink for $5. Can't get a better deal than that, plus you don't have to pack a lunch that day, bonus!

- Whether you've got a voice like Adele or a teenager going through puberty, may wanna check out the Army, Navy and Air Force's Karaoke Night this Saturday. Show up at 10 and be prepared to wow the audience, could be your break out moment.

- Free + Swim. Think we all know how awesome that is but now that the weather is cooling down and Splash Island getting set to close for another year, the PRRA will move things back inside to the Shindleman Aquatic Centre for the fall. The first free swim there is happening Sunday from 6-8pm with this continuing every third Sunday of the month.

- Ever wanted to know what's coming up for the Herman Prior Centre or been waiting to register for a certain class? Have I got good news for you. Their open house is Wednesday night at 8pm. They'll go over everything you need to know.

- FALL SUPPER SEASON IS UPON US. I REPEAT. FALL SUPPER SEASON IS UPON US! Lots coming up, St. Laurent, St. Ambroise, Glenella and the Portage Mosiac Church all have ones on Sunday. Find the full schedule here.
