The risk of getting sick with West Nile virus is slowly increasing.

Doctor Susan Roberecki is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health.
She gives us an update on their findings from mosquito traps in southern Manitoba. There was a positive mosquito sample in Carman, where a small number of Culex Tarsalis mosquitoes were found.

However, she notes adult mosquito control isn't indicated right now.

Earlier this month, West Nile turned up in mosquitoes in Steinbach.
Doctor Roberecki says it's usually early July when human cases of West Nile are noticed.

So what do you do?

Avoid mosquito bites, especially between dusk and dawn.
